The moves come as Woodall Nicholson develops and expands its growing technical competencies through the group’s innovation company in Scarborough, ProMech Technologies.
Mark Clissett takes on his new role after founding the Treka Bus company and helping establish it as the UK’s leading accessible bus marque before its acquisition by Woodall Nicholson. Mark has today built a reputation as an influential figure in the bus and coach sector and, with a 40+ year career history in passenger transport, has fulfilled a number of senior roles with major companies such as Lex Transfleet and Asset Co before launching UV Modular, the company behind the Treka Bus business.
John Randerson, also a high-profile figure in the bus and coach sector, takes up his new position as Chief Technology Officer within Woodall Nicholson, working across the group’s automotive brands. John will bring his proven technical expertise to bear through ProMech Technologies – his remit to further develop the group’s technology relationships with OEMs and to implement cross-brand technological synergies and efficiencies across the Woodall Nicholson group.

Frank Barrett, CEO at Woodall Nicholson, said, “These appointments reveal the strength-in-depth nature of the team we have within the company. Mark’s experience in the accessible bus sector means he transitions seamlessly to the Divisional MD role where he will further develop our ‘size-appropriate’ product range and, with his customer focused background, will further cultivate our growing customer base. John’s appointment,” he said, “is a reflection of the abundance of innovative and exciting technology that exists today in our existing products, and also in new products in advanced development. It’s time for us to bring a sharper focus to our technical offering, to ensure it delivers tangible benefits for our existing and new customers, and to ensure technologies are fully optimised across all the Woodall Nicholson brands.”
